The Beckenham Methodist Church suffered significant earthquake damage and their hall was damaged beyond repair. We were engaged to act as the Main Contractor to complete a 3 stage project that involved construction of a new architecturally designed hall, structural strengthening of the main church building and upgrading kitchen and toilet facilities. The project was carefully managed to enable the church congregation to use the parts of the building which were completed whilst work was undertaken in other areas. This project involved numerous stakeholders, and extensive consultation was undertaken throughout.

The council compliance process was complex, as it required numerous Certificate of Public use applications and subsequent sign off throughout construction. We facilitated this process proactively to ensure there were no risks to building occupation requirements for the parish. The project was not only completed on the required deadline, but importantly for the church parish we managed to achieve Code of Compliance from CCC for the entire project within 48 hours to enable the building to be used for a special function.
